Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society (LASFS)
LASFS is the oldest continually operating science fiction club in the world, established in 1934. LASFS promotes science fiction in southern California and around the country, and operates the Loscon convention every November; it also initiated the regional SF convention Westercon.

Loscon
The Los Angeles regional science fiction convention, owned and operated by LASFS, taking place every Thanksgiving weekend in November at the Marriott Los Angeles Airport Hotel.

Anime Los Angeles
L.A.’s “medium sized” fan-run anime convention, “on the other side of the year” — in the winter, sponsored by the California Anime Foundation (CAF), taking place at the Long Beach Convention Center.
